Job Responsibilities

SPIE GLOBAL SERVICES ENERGY is seeking Senior Mechanical Technicians to enhance our operational capabilities.

  • Coordinate and execute maintenance tasks on-site, supervising teams and supporting specialists under Specific Maintenance Contracts (SMC).
  • Uphold the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, ensuring compliance with work permit procedures and established operational protocols.
  • Guarantee that all maintenance and repair activities on plant and equipment are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Oversee intervention reporting through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMIMS).
  • Document intervention reports in the CMIMS, including those related to SMC, and prepare technical reports pertinent to your area of expertise.
  • Monitor the performance of systems under your oversight.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer through mentoring within your teams, actively participating in this process.
  • Manage the team of technicians directly reporting to you.
  • Execute any interventions within your area of expertise as requested by the Client Service Representative (CSR).
  • Assume responsibility for systems under your care in the event of a breakdown until normal operations are restored.

Candidate Profile

Possess a Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent (A-levels + 3 years' study), with 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance within oil and gas production settings.

A foundational understanding of oil and gas treatment processes and comprehensive knowledge of the equipment utilized is essential.

Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing small teams is required.

Must exhibit independence and competence in your field, showcasing common sense and organizational skills. Natural authority, built on expertise and trust in your teams, is crucial.

Theoretical Knowledge Required

  • Petroleum: Basic understanding of facilities/processes from well to export, with knowledge of hydrocarbon behavior and associated risks.
  • Physics: Familiarity with fundamental physical laws and units, as well as material characteristics.
  • Engineering: Ability to interpret and utilize technical drawings and vendor documentation.
  • Equipment: Understanding of main mechanical equipment operations and maintenance requirements.
  • Awareness of condition-based monitoring (CBM) practices.

Maintenance Expertise

Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance concepts, with a basic knowledge of CMMS operations.

Practical Skills

  • Proficient in selecting and maintaining mechanical hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Capable of operating and maintaining workshop equipment.
  • Trained in basic lifting operations and maintenance procedures.
