Role Details

We are in search of a Cybersecurity Solutions Architect who possesses a robust security mindset and technical expertise, becoming a vital member of our security team. In this role, you will be expected to have extensive experience in information security and IT risk evaluation, along with a solid understanding and practical experience of security protocols, authentication methods, and security best practices throughout the development lifecycle. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as you will work with a diverse range of individuals. You will also be responsible for consulting engagements, offering expert advice and tailored solutions to internal clients based on their cybersecurity requirements and challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct system requirements and design reviews for systems within the Rakuten ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with developers, system/network administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure secure design, development, and implementation of applications and networks.
  • Create and/or update security-related guidelines, technical security standards, security policies, and regulations for the Rakuten group.
  • Participate in security training and awareness initiatives, fostering a culture of security consciousness and facilitating ongoing education.
  • Drive innovation and deliver quality swiftly across the platform, executing plans successfully through meticulous planning, attention to detail, effective delegation, and accountability.
  • Engage with potential internal clients to understand their cybersecurity needs and challenges.
  • Assess customer requirements to provide customized security solutions.
  • Develop and present proposals based on the client's needs and cybersecurity challenges.
  • Manage consulting engagements, delivering expert advice and solutions to internal clients.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the information security domain.
  • Strong understanding of core concepts related to network, web/mobile applications, network/web application protocols, and associated security issues.
  • Basic knowledge of security architecture frameworks, threat modeling, security patterns, and best practices in the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent consultation, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills to foster trust and consensus.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a consultant in a highly technical information security consultancy is advantageous.
  • Advanced IT security certifications (in good standing), such as CISA or CISSP, are beneficial.
  • Experience in overseeing vulnerability remediation, defining security requirements, and collaborating with infrastructure and development teams to create secure solutions.
  • Familiarity with web/mobile application development and major web frameworks.
  • Experience in web/mobile penetration testing and/or vulnerability assessments.
  • Knowledge of major commercial cloud environments and/or experience with container technologies.
  • Experience working with SIEM and/or involvement in incident response projects.
  • Incident response experience, including the management of security incidents.
