Job Overview
OBJECTIVE:
As a Control Systems Automation Engineer at Profile Middle East LLC, you will be instrumental in the design, execution, and upkeep of Hull Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) specifically designed for the oil and gas sector. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that automation systems are effective, dependable, and adhere to industry regulations, thereby enhancing the safety and efficiency of both offshore and onshore operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- System Design and Execution:
- Create and develop automation solutions for Hull ICSS in oil and gas contexts.
- Implement and integrate control and safety systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and industry norms.
- Collaborate closely with project teams to establish system requirements and deliver robust automation solutions.
- Programming and Configuration:
- Program and configure PLCs, DCS, SCADA systems, and other automation components.
- Develop tailored control logic to enhance system performance and ensure safety.
- Conduct comprehensive testing and troubleshooting of automation systems to confirm functionality and reliability.
- Maintenance and Support:
- Carry out routine maintenance and upgrades on automation systems to guarantee seamless operation.
- Provide technical assistance and training to operators, engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Diagnose and resolve technical challenges related to automation hardware and software.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, user manuals, and maintenance protocols.
- Maintain thorough records of system configurations, modifications, and performance issues.
- Generate reports on system performance metrics and suggest enhancements.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all automation systems comply with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Engage in safety audits, risk assessments, and HAZOP studies.
- Implement and adhere to best practices for cybersecurity in industrial automation.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in automation engineering within the oil and gas sector.
- Demonstrated experience with PLC programming, DCS, SCADA systems, and industrial automation networks.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and Function Block Diagram.
- Extensive experience with KONGSBERG HULL ICSS.
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Familiarity with safety systems and standards (e.g., IEC 61508, IEC).
This position may involve occasional travel to various operational sites.
