The Role

As a Software Engineer at Flowie, you will be instrumental in designing and developing resilient backend systems. Your contributions will ensure that our platform consistently delivers outstanding performance and reliability for all users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement backend services using Scala within a microservices architecture, leveraging technologies such as Apache Pulsar and Postgres.
  • Manage data efficiently and ensure seamless integration with frontend systems and external services.
  • Collaborate with frontend engineers to develop efficient APIs and enhance backend-to-frontend interactions.
  • Adhere to best practices in backend development, including code quality, security, testing, and performance optimization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Work closely with product and design teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Stay informed about the latest backend technologies and trends to maintain our platform's competitive edge.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in backend development.
  • Proficiency in any major backend programming language, with a keen interest in learning Scala. Experience with JVM or functional programming languages is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of API design, microservices architecture, and server-side technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a remote work environment.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional European languages is a plus.
