Job Title: Lead SCM Engineer

At Subsea7, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead SCM Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of high-value and complex materials and services for our oil and gas projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for complex projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure all requirements are included in pre-qualification and tender documents.
  • Manage the review and clarification of bids, including contractual, commercial, and schedule analysis.
  • Prepare and issue requests for quotation to suppliers, and coordinate with other disciplines for on-time review and clarification of technical, quality, and HSE sections.
  • Finalize bid summaries and make recommendations to the Project SCM Manager and Project Manager.
  • Prepare subcontract documents, supplier commitment approvals, and contractual deviation matrices for management approval.
  • Create purchase orders and expedite their approval in SAP.
  • Understand project requirements, including scope of work, delivery schedule, budget, and flow-down conditions, and how the purchase order integrates with the project execution plan.
  • Understand supplier product and execution strategies, procurement and subcontracting strategies, key engineering and manufacturing steps, and associated risks.
  • Identify and develop mitigation measures for risks associated with the purchase order, and communicate priorities to project stakeholders.
  • Organize necessary audits, KOMs, and PPMs, and monitor and expedite the progress of supplier documentation and technical queries, deviation requests, and non-compliance reports.
Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant discipline (engineering or business) or qualified by experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of complex items.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and guide junior colleagues.
  • Cost-saving oriented, with the ability to challenge requests and identify procurement risks.
  • Good knowledge of the offshore industry and its specificities.
