Assistant Professor in AI and Language Processing
Il y a 2 mois
Télécom Paris, a prestigious institution within the IMT (Institut Mines-Télécom) and a founding member of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, ranks among the top engineering schools in France.
The core mission of Télécom Paris is to educate, innovate, and develop digital models, technologies, and solutions that prioritize societal and environmental well-being.
We are seeking a faculty member specializing in artificial intelligence with a focus on language processing, to join the Image, Data, Signal (IDS) department.
The Information Processing and Communication Laboratory (LTCI) serves as the in-house research facility for Télécom Paris. Established in 1982, the LTCI has a rich history of research in information and communication technologies, continuing the legacy of the CNRS joint research unit. The laboratory covers diverse topics, including computer science, networks, data science, signal and image processing, and digital communications. The open position aligns with the research strategy of LTCI and Télécom Paris, emphasizing Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will be integrated into the Statistics, Signal processing, and Machine Learning (S2A) team, which fosters collaboration between statistics, probabilistic modeling, machine learning, signal processing, audio data analysis, and natural language processing. The associate professor will also engage with the vibrant ecosystem of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, where numerous Data Science projects flourish, both within academic circles and with industry partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement educational programs in the domain of AI for language processing.
- Conduct research in the relevant scientific field.
- Contribute to the scientific endeavors of the associated group.
- Foster partnerships, collaborations, and contractual relationships in AI for language processing.
To excel in this position, candidates must possess a PhD and demonstrate fluency in English. The selected researcher will focus on Machine Learning, particularly in Deep Learning. While the position welcomes all applications within this field, preference will be given to those with expertise in Natural Language Processing (covering text, speech, or information retrieval) or a keen interest in working with natural language data. Additionally, the IDS department and S2A team are particularly interested in the following cross-cutting themes:
- Generative models, Conversational AI
- Bias and Explainability in AI
- Frugal Machine Learning
If you are passionate about advancing artificial intelligence research and wish to contribute to the field of machine learning and language processing, we encourage you to consider this opportunity.
