Senior Legal Counsel

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Hitachi Energy in Massy, France. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will be part of our Grid Integration business line and will provide professional advice on a broad range of legal and integrity issues.

Your Responsibilities

• Meet with customers, partners, and suppliers to negotiate contractual terms and drive the development of business models, particularly for high-value complex tenders and projects.

• Work as a trusted business partner, identifying legal issues and developing effective strategies to support business activities.

• Contribute to the review of tender preparation, risk identification, and risk review, as well as framework agreements and partnerships.

• Collaborate with legal teams globally and interdisciplinary teams to promote dispute avoidance and manage disputes and litigations.

• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as internal regulations in various fields.

• Contribute to the development of directives and assist with implementation.

• Collaborate in Risk Management and other internal processes.

• Train Company employees in all legal matters.

Your Background

• A bachelor's degree in French law.

• 8+ years of experience as a lawyer relating to grid systems or major utilities construction/engineering projects, with a successful track record of handling complex international corporate and commercial transactions, as well as significant claims and litigations.

• Knowledge of governmental and commercial regulations and practices, working knowledge of FIDIC and offshore contracts.

• Proven communication, drafting of contracts, and negotiation skills.

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Ability to travel.

• Proficiency in French and English. Proficiency in Italian is a plus.
