MYP Coordinator Job Description

The Aga Khan Academies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced MYP Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our academic leadership, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful implementation and delivery of the Middle Years Programme (MYP) at our school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise school leadership on MYP-related matters and provide guidance to teachers on MYP implementation.
  • Oversee the scheduling process to ensure student learning is supported in the MYP.
  • Provide support and advice to teachers on MYP-related matters, including new publications and developments.
  • Organize moderation, certification, and programme evaluation procedures, maintaining regular contact with the IBO.
  • Maintain accurate school and student information via IBIS.
  • Support teaching staff in administering the MYP, ensuring moderation and final mark requirements are met.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of the Personal Project, working with the Personal Project supervisor.
  • Liaise with IB Diploma and PYP coordinators to facilitate student transition.
  • Organize MYP community information sessions and prepare an annual MYP results analysis report.
  • Induct new faculty, students, and parents into the MYP, ensuring service learning programs are in place.
Curriculum Management:
  • Liaise with heads of departments to ensure curriculum overviews are in place and adhered to.
  • Ensure ATL maps are in place and adhered to for ATLs across grade levels.
  • Integrate global contexts into teaching, providing leadership to build and sustain a healthy MYP culture.
  • Lead and participate in curriculum review and development for each academic department.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed.) in the respective fields.
  • 5 years of IB Middle Years' Programme and/or IB Diploma outstanding teaching experience, including previous Middle Years' Programme experience.
  • TSC Certification.
