Job Description

Safran Tech, a leading international high-technology group, is seeking a highly skilled Research and Technology Engineer to join its Materials and Processes Department. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of an integrated computational methodology for the simulation and understanding of material behaviour at the electronic, molecular or microstructure scales.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement computational methods for material design and optimisation
  • Build and maintain databases and machine-learned models to support material simulations
  • Apply simulations and machine learning for the design of new materials or optimisation of manufacturing processes
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in materials science and engineering
  • Collaborate with academic and industrial partners to improve the methodology
  • Protect innovative results through patent applications
  • Disseminate research findings through publications and presentations
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or Engineering Science
  • Experience with computational methods relevant to materials science, such as calculation of phase diagrams, phase-field modelling, molecular mechanics/molecular dynamics or density functional theory
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning and data curation
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
