Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive quantitative and qualitative assessments to analyze the landscape for energy investments, emphasizing policy frameworks, industry stakeholders, financial models, and identifying investment opportunities across various markets.
- Assist in the analysis and execution of policies, regulations, and market reforms in emerging and developing regions, with a strong focus on enhancing prospects for clean energy investments, including renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives.
- Develop and maintain extensive datasets related to energy supply, financial metrics, economic indicators, and other relevant data concerning energy policies, projects, corporate trends, and financial flows across different nations.
- Contribute to the modeling and analytical efforts currently in progress within the Office of the Chief Energy Economist, focusing on areas such as fossil fuel and clean energy supply, investment strategies, critical minerals, and methane emissions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel (including advanced features like macros and pivot tables) and Access.
- Familiarity with large statistical databases, especially financial data systems such as Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters Eikon, along with practical experience in statistical software for database management.
- Understanding of financial modeling and accounting principles is advantageous.
- Knowledge of programming languages and tools such as R, Python, SQL, STATA, SAS, Vensim, Matlab, and/or Visual Basic is a plus.
