Financial Planning and Analysis Role at Edwards Lifesciences

We are seeking an experienced financial planning and analysis professional to join our team at Edwards Lifesciences in France.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret complex financial results to identify financial issues and provide insights for business leaders.
  • Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support business decision-making.
  • Assess system capabilities and process efficiencies, and recommend enhancements and upgrades.
  • Prepare and process month-end journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and gather data for trend analysis.
  • Collaborate with business departments to monitor complex and high-volume SGP percentages on products and customer levels.
  • Prepare, file, and process annual tax declarations, and respond to complex questions and resolve issues from tax advisors and fiscal authorities/entities.
  • Implement processes, SOPs, and changes in new and country-specific regulations, and prepare timely month-end closings, including statutory annual reports.
  • May participate and/or lead in process improvement projects, and train, coach, and provide feedback to lower-level team members.
  • Ensure Edwards compliance by applying knowledge of applicable regulations, such as the Sunshine Act, SOX, GAAP financials, SEC, and IRS, to develop explanations for internal and external auditors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or locally recognized degree/certification.
  • 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Accounting, forecasting, planning, or expense analysis experience is preferred.
  • Experience working in an international company is preferred.
  • English: professional proficiency (excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and in French).

Additional Skills:

  • Proven expertise in MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel and related financial systems; ERP experience is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills, including consultative and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and investigative skills.
  • Substantial knowledge and understanding of Edwards policies, procedures, and guidelines relevant to accounting.
  • Good understanding of cost accounting processes.
  • Substantial understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
  • Substantial knowledge of financial concepts and principles.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
  • Strict attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
