About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Expert Jeweller to join our team at Catawiki. As a key member of our New Jewellery Team, you will be responsible for evaluating and arranging lots submitted by our users.

As an Expert Jeweller, you will utilize your extensive knowledge and commercial network to create attractive lot listings every week. You will visit existing and potential new sellers, providing them with a great onboarding experience and supporting the submission process.

Your expertise and experience will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of user transactions at Catawiki. You will review lot titles, descriptions, and pictures, and provide users with an estimated value based on this information.

Your efforts will result in exceptional auctions that bidders will find irresistible. You will also work with our sales department to keep your own auction interesting, drawing in new sellers and diversifying the selection of lots offered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curate auctions on a weekly basis, ensuring high-quality listings.
  • Screen lots submitted by users and utilize your expert knowledge to value them.
  • Analyze KPIs and suggest strategies to improve performance and growth.
  • Leverage your extensive network to bring in new buyers and sellers.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to bring in new business and diversify the selection of lots offered.
  • Work with our marketing team to generate interest in your category auctions.
  • Attend fairs and exhibitions to meet existing sellers and new buyers.
Requirements
  • Gemmology Diploma from a recognized institution.
  • 5-10 years of experience in the jewellery trade, with knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality control.
  • Experience in appraising and assessing jewellery with various precious stones.
  • Good grasp of market prices and understanding of online lot curation.
  • Experience analyzing and implementing data to drive growth and category improvements.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • A network of potential sellers and experts in the field.
  • Diplomatic competence to resolve disputes between users.
  • Ability to thrive in a diverse environment.
  • High command of a European language, both verbal and written.
  • Fluent in English.
