Contribute to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)
The IPCC is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Science Officer to join its Working Group I (WGI) Technical Support Unit (TSU). The successful candidate will work closely with the Co-Chairs of WGI and report to the Head of Science of the TSU.
The Science Officer will be responsible for providing scientific support in the scoping, preparation, and review of the Special Report on climate change, desertification, land degradation, sustainable land management, food security, and greenhouse gas fluxes in terrestrial ecosystems. The role will also involve supporting WGI contributions to Special Reports, the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report, IPCC Workshops, and Expert Meetings.
Requirements
- PhD in climate science with a strong publication record in climate change, the carbon cycle, and/or land use and/or climate feedbacks;
- Experience in scientific report writing, editing, and/or peer review;
- Experience in international projects;
- Experience in communication and outreach.

Previous experience in IPCC work and process would be an asset. The position is for three years, with the possibility of extension through the completion of the project.
