Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Data Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of an AWS-based data platform. This platform will enable data-driven decision-making at scale, and you will play a crucial role in shaping the organisation's data strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and design the AWS-based data platform, aligning architectural decisions with business goals and strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine business needs and drive the evolution of federated data products.
  • Continuously evaluate and integrate new AWS features and services to enhance the platform's capabilities and meet evolving needs.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, highlighting the impact on business outcomes and the protection of sensitive data.
Requirements
  • Proven track record building data platforms and products in AWS environments.
  • Strong business acumen and product-oriented mindset.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to work across teams and departments.
  • Strong experience with data engineering tools and technologies, such as Kafka, Hadoop, and Spark.
  • Experience with data modelling, federation, and governance.
