Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Engineer - Platform/Server to spearhead the technical vision and strategy for our Platform/Server organization. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for shaping the technical direction of our platform, supporting the growth of our core business, and venturing into new exciting domains.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical direction for our Platform/Server organization and drive the development of our core business.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical initiatives and projects.
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable and efficient software solutions using Golang and cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster their career growth and technical skills.
- Work closely with our Associate Director of Engineering to align technical vision with business objectives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and growth.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional work experience in Golang and consumer-facing backend development.
- Proficient in working with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, SQL, Postgres, sharding, RDS, RDBMS, or data modeling.
- Experience in mentoring engineering teams to foster their career growth and technical skills.
- Able to work in-office 5 days a week in Las Vegas (relocation assistance available for brand new Vegas HQ).
- Experience in the Gaming Industry (ideally) or experience with Unity and a passion for building services for games.
- Nice to have: Non-relational databases (DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra), caching (Redis, Memcache), Kubernetes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a technical field of study, or equivalent industry experience.
