Your Mission

We are seeking a skilled Android Engineer to join our Monetize Squad at BlaBlaCar. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing features that enable seamless trip purchases for our passengers, enhancing their experience and fostering customer satisfaction and loyalty.

As an Android Engineer, you will work on technical challenges and product feature developments from early-stage conception to deployment and monitoring of new releases. You will collaborate with a team of 9 engineers, including 2 iOS, 1 Android, 1 SPA, and 5 backend engineers, and contribute to the transversal Android chapter composed of 11 Android Engineers dedicated to BlaBlaCar's mobile application.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop features for the BlaBlaCar applications
  2. Collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to shape features that land in production
  3. Ensure the quality of the application and contribute to its improvement
  4. Enhance tooling and CI/CD pipeline
  5. Share knowledge with the team, provide documentation, enforce good practices, and communicate changes
  6. Conduct code reviews

Your Qualifications

  1. 3+ years of experience building Android apps with a strong engineering culture
  2. Experience with MVVM architecture and clean architecture
  3. Experience working with RESTful APIs, Dagger, Retrofit, Kotlin, Kotlin coroutines, unit, and integration tests
  4. Ability to balance fast iterations with quality delivery
  5. Good communication skills and a willingness to share and learn from others
  6. Embracing change, taking ownership, and focusing on added-value tasks
  7. Results-driven and product-oriented mindset
  8. Full working proficiency in English
  9. Familiarity with BlaBlaCar's principles and a passion for innovation
  10. Ability to take ownership and align with business priorities
