Generalist Lawyer

We are currently in search of a Senior Generalist Lawyer to enhance our legal team. This role reports directly to the Legal Director and is pivotal in providing legal guidance to our event and online product divisions, alongside central departments such as Finance, IT, HR, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and negotiate a variety of contracts, including supplier agreements (IT/IP), partnership or client contracts, licensing agreements, promotional sales contracts, and speaker/consultant agreements.
• Review and validate terms of use for websites and other digital media.
• Manage corporate law matters and oversee routine and extraordinary operations.
• Offer legal expertise on trademarks, including registration, opposition, counterfeiting, and issues of unfair competition.
• Provide counsel on copyright, database rights, and other intellectual property matters, including aspects related to AI.
• Advise on compliance with personal data protection regulations, in collaboration with RX DPO and RELX.
• Ensure adherence to CSR, anti-corruption, and sanctions laws, while participating in Legal Relx project groups.
• Assist in risk management and insurance, promoting awareness of IT security, scams, and offenses.
• Manage pre-litigation and disputes, coordinating with external legal counsel as necessary.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and/or qualifications in the legal field. A profound understanding of Contracts and related disciplines is essential. The candidate should demonstrate an ability to solve complex issues independently, with minimal supervision, and may lead projects or manage ongoing activities. They will also serve as a resource for less experienced team members.

• A Master’s degree in Business Law is required; an LLM degree is advantageous.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is expected.
