We are looking for a skilled Senior Cloud Software Engineer to join our team at Datadog. As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building and operating distributed, high-throughput, real-time data pipelines.

The ideal candidate will have significant backend programming experience in one or more languages, including Java and Go, and will be able to get down to the low-level when needed. They will also care about code simplicity and performance, and be an accountable team player that likes to get things done.

As a Senior Cloud Software Engineer at Datadog, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from building and operating distributed data pipelines to working on new features and products. Responsibilities:

  • Build and operate distributed, high-throughput, real-time data pipelines
  • Do it in Java and Go, with bits of Python or other languages
  • Use Kafka, Elasticsearch, and other open-source components
  • Own meaningful parts of our service, have an impact, grow with the company

Requirements:

  • BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
  • Significant backend programming experience in one or more languages
  • Able to get down to the low-level when needed
  • Care about code simplicity and performance
  • Accountable team player that likes to get things done
