Lead Aerospace Underwriter

Context Overview:
AXA XL, a division of AXA focused on property and casualty insurance for large enterprises and specialty risks, is seeking a senior underwriter for its Aerospace sector.
In order to support our Underwriting team during our international expansion, your role will involve actively contributing to the profitable growth of our portfolio. You will assess the risks associated with both existing and new business, negotiate with brokers regarding the full range of coverage options we offer, ensure high-quality customer service, and collaborate with all teams in a proactive and open manner.

Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate business opportunities utilizing internal tools and expertise.
- Engage with our business partners to define risk acceptance criteria (premium, coverage, AXA XL commitments) and develop a portfolio aligned with the Branch's appetite while adhering to underwriting policies and your authority limits.
- Provide Production Managers with all necessary information for the creation, revision, or management of contracts to maintain high-quality data in underwriting systems.
- Monitor the technical and contractual aspects of business throughout its lifecycle.
- Analyze contract or program results and negotiate corrective measures when necessary.
- Participate in technical portfolio reviews and commercial initiatives led by the branch.
You will report to the Underwriting Manager for General Aviation / Airlines.

- Proven experience with another insurer or broker in the Aerospace sector.
- Strong commercial acumen and versatility across various sub-sectors of Aerospace.
- Ability to manage internal and external stakeholders and their expectations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Fluency in English and Spanish (both spoken and written).
