As part of the SGDBF team, the strategic studies intern in mergers and acquisitions will work closely with an M&A project manager and contribute to the Development team. The primary responsibility is to support the M&A project manager in conducting both qualitative and quantitative analyses essential for understanding the market landscape (size, trends, and competitive positioning).

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Analysis:

  • Perform comprehensive market analyses and quantitative studies.
  • Assess the size and growth trends of targeted markets through diligent information monitoring.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial data and interim consolidations required for specific groups.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to enhance data quality (including geomarketing studies).

Competitive Analysis:

  • Evaluate competition and market positioning as part of departmental studies, creating detailed profiles on competitors, benchmarks, and geographical mappings.
  • Maintain and distribute competitive intelligence reports (comparing main competitors with SGDBF, preparing materials for presentations).
  • Update and enrich financial data from a comprehensive competition database of approximately 1000 companies (in partnership with our service provider).
  • Gather additional insights regarding competitors' operations in various regions.

Support for the M&A Team:

The M&A team comprises three senior project managers who may request assistance from the intern for various tasks related to ongoing acquisition or divestiture projects.

  • Are you pursuing an apprenticeship as part of a master's program in a Business School or University with a focus on strategy or finance?
  • Do you have prior experience (internship or apprenticeship) in sectors such as investment banking, investment funds, strategy consulting, transaction services, or auditing?
  • Are you knowledgeable in market research methodologies?
  • Do you possess a solid understanding of key financial statements and ratios?
  • Are your writing and presentation skills exceptional?
  • Are you proficient in Microsoft Office applications?
  • Do you demonstrate intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, critical thinking, and synthesis capabilities?

Proficiency in English is an advantage.
