Senior Transportation Specialist

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a skilled Driver to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of officials, staff, and guests in Madagascar.
Job Summary
This position will be hosted by AfricaRice in Madagascar, on behalf of the International Potato Center. The selected candidate will be based in Atsimo and refana, Androy and Anosy, Madagascar and will report to the Finance and Administrative Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive officials, staff, and guests to meetings, airport transfers, field missions, local and out-of-city trips, ensuring punctuality and safe driving practices.
- Perform regular vehicle maintenance checks, maintain log-books, and ensure all vehicle documents are up-to-date.
- Assist office staff with tasks such as photocopying, printing, scanning, and maintaining stores when required.
- Support in submitting visa applications and collecting passports on time for different embassies.
- Provide assistance to the Office Assistant with record-keeping of books, publications, and arranging payment for office utilities bills as needed.
- Comply with applicable health and safety CIP policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Technical studies
- At least 2 years of experience required in a similar position with a safe driving record.
- Knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
- Excellent 4-wheel driving skills under difficult conditions.
- Valid driver's license.
- Skills in minor vehicle repairs.
- Fluent in French and the official language of the country location.
- Basic knowledge in English (Desirable).
