Position Overview
The Aga Khan Academies is seeking Programs and Partnerships Professionals at various levels, including Officers and Managers. The selected candidates will play a crucial role in managing a portfolio of grants funded by North American donors, contributing to the development of global programs and proposals, and representing the organization at networking events, conferences, and technical group meetings. Additionally, these roles will support the Global Partnerships Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee grant management for assigned projects.
- Engage in global program and proposal development.
- Represent the organization at various events and meetings.
- Support public engagement initiatives.
- Report to Senior Managers in Programs and Partnerships.
Location and Travel
The positions will be based in Ottawa, with potential travel of up to 25% annually to regions in Africa and Asia. Relocation assistance to Ottawa is available if needed.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as international development.
- Officers require a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, while Managers should have at least five (5) years in program management, grant management, or business development, including experience in a developing country.
- Demonstrated experience in business and proposal development for major institutional donors, including Global Affairs Canada (GAC), USAID, and other significant entities.
- Experience in grant management or program management on international development projects funded by institutional donors.
- Knowledge of results-based management principles, particularly for GAC programming.
- Understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment concepts, with experience in their implementation within programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in French is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel as required.
