We are seeking a Offshore Marine Engineering Specialist for our esteemed client with the following details:
Project Duration: 12 months
Contract Type: Renewable
Work Location: France, Paris area
Global assignments may be anticipated due to the distribution of work-packages and contractor locations;
Regular assignments in Angola
Employment Status: Residential
Required Qualifications & Experience:- Degree: Engineering or equivalent
- Language Proficiency: English is essential - Portuguese is advantageous
- Industry Experience: 15 to 20 years in the Oil & Gas sector, specifically in Offshore Projects/Fields
- Project Experience: Approximately 10 years with substantial engineering expertise in mooring systems
- Key Skills: Exceptional communication abilities, proactive attitude, high motivation, innovative thinking, persuasive skills, leadership qualities, and organizational capabilities.
- Assume responsibility, under the guidance of the Hull Buoy and Mooring Manager, for designated activities as outlined by management.
- Oversee all tasks related to the life extension of FPSO marine systems, including offloading buoy and tandem operations.
- Ensure that the engineering documentation for hull appurtenances and systems, as well as offloading buoy and tandem equipment refurbishment, is optimized for immediate implementation.
- Lead the refurbishment activities for FPSO tandem (including organization, preparation, procedures, planning, and coordination with involved departments, OEMs, and contractors).
- Collaborate with the Floating Unit Lead Engineer for certification and classification society requirements for class renewal.
- Address conditions of class and integrity issues concerning the hull and offloading systems.
- Coordinate with mooring and hull engineers as necessary.
- Facilitate communication and coordination with OT/TL/TEC/SMA.
- Define and update inspection, operation, and maintenance manuals and plans for hull and offloading systems, considering modifications, aging, and system history.
- Clarify and formalize roles and responsibilities between HBM FEED Team and TEEPA entities (PBF, EPT, FO), and lead regular coordination meetings.
- Liaise with OneTech discipline specialists as needed, particularly OT/TEC/SMA naval architects.
- Provide timely updates to the HBM Manager, assisting in communication with Project Management and highlighting progress and concerns.
- Support the follow-up, coordination, and preparation of FEED mooring-related documentation.
- Ensure that engineering, qualification, and procurement activities align with contract requirements and project specifications, issuing necessary derogations.
- Monitor the engineering, qualification, and procurement activities for hull and offloading systems.
- Guide FEED/service contractors towards effective resolution of all interface matters related to mooring engineering.
- Address technical queries from FEED and service contractors as required.
- Prepare reports and presentations as necessary.
- Participate in various technical reviews (Hazids, Hazops, Project Technical Reviews, Risk Assessments) and ensure implementation of recommendations.
- Actively engage with all relevant technical specialists involved in the management of contracts, and liaise with other line managers (HSE, QA, and LC) and project services specialists (planner, budget, and cost control) for contract development and management.
- Conduct contract close-out procedures in accordance with project protocols.
- Contribute to minimizing contractual risks associated with interfaces with other packages and identify potential risks during contract execution.
- Ensure that all safety and environmental studies are reviewed and updated, and that final designs comply with ALARP policy.
- Confirm that designs meet all HSE requirements.
- Adhere to company and affiliate standards.
- Attend safety inductions as required and adapt behavior to comply with health, safety, and environmental instructions.
- Maintain continuous awareness of hazards and surroundings.
- Participate in initiatives to enhance HSE performance and report any issues or observations to management, proposing improvements.
- Ensure that refurbishment work for Topside Mooring Handling equipment is prepared according to company standards, site procedures, and industry best practices.
