Job Opening: Systems Engineering Manager

We're seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to join our Electrification Center of Excellence. As a manager of a Systems Engineering Team, you'll drive activities such as leading the local team, developing next-generation powertrain products, and supporting system engineering processes. You'll also act as a liaison between Systems and other cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the Local Systems Engineering team (8-10 people) and develop next-generation powertrain products for the automotive, industrial, and commercial vehicle industries.
  2. Support the development and execution of System engineering processes and their related risk analysis in accordance with relevant automotive standards.
  3. Act as a liaison between Systems and other cross-functional teams.
  4. Perform internal Design reviews for system activities to ensure design maturity and compliance with customer expectations.
Requirements:
  1. 10+ years of experience in automotive product development, including Electrical and Electronic hardware and software development, 5+ years in systems engineering.
  2. Product launch experience.
  3. Proven experience in leading an engineering team or multiple teams directly or matrix.
  4. Good understanding of automotive powertrains architecture, electric motors, inverters, and powertrain control.
  5. Good understanding of automotive system requirements/system architecture design and risk analysis for electric products, V-cycle development process, ASPICE, functional safety.
  6. Understanding of embedded controls, electric machines, hybrid and electric drivelines.
  7. Garrett Internal Experience with in-vehicle communication protocols (CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet).
  8. Understanding of powertrain related physics, with strong analytical and math skills.
  9. Prior experience with Requirements Management tools such as Jama, Polarion or DOORS.
  10. Prior experience on System architecture/design tools such as Enterprise Architect, Rhapsody, etc.
  11. Experience directing technical teams.
  12. Ability to work in a team environment and negotiate solutions with hardware/software and systems engineering.
  13. Strong communication and presentation skills.
  14. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  15. Ability to work in a global, virtual team environment.
We Value:
  1. Prior experience on Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) approach is an asset.
  2. Automotive industry background at global Tier 1 or OEM Design for Six Sigma certification.
  3. LV-123 / VDA-320 Automotive high voltage / 48V ISO 16750 / LV-124 Electrical component validation.
