Lead Structural Hull Engineer for FPSO Design

D2M Services is seeking a highly skilled Lead Structural Hull Engineer to contribute to the Basic Design of an FPSO for a prominent client in the offshore energy sector.
Our client, a leading provider of floating production solutions, boasts a substantial fleet of FPSOs with a remarkable track record exceeding one million barrels of oil per day.
Based in our engineering office, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the structural integrity of this crucial offshore asset. As the Lead Structural Hull Engineer, your responsibilities encompass:
- Delivering comprehensive hull structural design and calculations adhering to stringent Class Rules and client specifications.
- Leading and managing a team of approximately 10 structural engineers, effectively organizing workloads and schedules for seamless project execution.
- Conducting meticulous reviews of all team deliverables, ensuring the highest standards of technical quality and efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Leveraging your in-depth knowledge of hull structures to implement state-of-the-art design principles and methodologies, contributing to a compliant and cost-effective solution that meets client expectations.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
We are seeking candidates with:
- A Master's or Bachelor's degree (or equivalent professional certification) in Offshore Structures / Naval Architecture, specializing in structural analysis of global and detailed hull structures.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in structural design within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven expertise in structural analysis of overall hull structures, coupled with a thorough understanding of classification society rules (ABS, DNV GL, BV, and Lloyd's).
- Experience in engineering and designing floating units for the offshore energy sector.
- Familiarity with structural interfaces across disciplines, including mooring structures, topsides integration, and other equipment.
- Preference for experience with FEMAP finite element software and Class-specific software tools.
