SCOR is seeking a highly skilled Business and Planning Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Underwriting department, you will play a critical role in supporting the development of our Underwriting Plan process and ensuring its alignment with our Group's new processes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of UW Planning and Forecasting in coordinating the production of the Underwriting Plan process, including data, process, tool, reporting, and timeline, for SCOR P&C.
- Contribute to the development of the UW Plan tool, ensuring that specific business needs are reflected in the design and implementation.
- Help define business specifications for the tool to be developed by the Analytical Development and Analytical Data teams, with a focus on data quality.
- Ensure the P&C UW Plan is compliant with Group processes, including Strategic Plan, High-level Plan, Reforecasting, and Syndicate's SBF and SBD deliverables.
- Align business planning with performance monitoring metrics and financial planning defined by Finance.
Business Steering and Analytical Insights:
- Provide support to the annual performance analysis process for SBS portfolios.
- Contribute to quarterly performance reviews of SBS and Syndicate business.
- Offer business insights and analyses to identify deviations from planned performance, trends, and drivers.
- Support the CUO SBS and Head of SBS by developing analytics to monitor performance, undertaking market studies, and benchmarking exercises.
- Contribute to establishing a single source of truth for business performance metrics within P&C.
Contribution to Analytical Tools and Data:
- Follow the guidance of the Head of UW Planning and Forecasting to harmonize plan and renewal processes across P&C business divisions and regions.
- Improve the analytical toolkit and methodologies used to assess and control P&C business performance activity.
- Ensure underwriting data is fit for analysis.
- Improve data accuracy and process efficiency, automating wherever possible and investigating tech solutions.
Required Experience and Competencies:
- 3-5 years of experience in the insurance or reinsurance sector, in a technical function (actuarial, modeling, or underwriting support).
- Actuarial background preferred.
- Superior analytical skills with strategic thinking and ability to synthesize and present to others.
- IT skills, including programming (e.g., SQL, Python, or R), a plus.
- Ability to interact with stakeholders locally and globally in a multicultural environment.
- Good team player, ability to develop network, internally and externally.
Required Education:
- Highly skilled technical person with quantitative background (e.g., Bachelor/Master of Science in Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science).
- Data scientist or actuarial background main assets.
- Further insurance or financial-related studies desirable.
