The Fabulous Company is in search of a Lead Android Software Engineer eager to contribute to a product that positively impacts millions globally. This role presents a chance to engage with a rapidly expanding application that consistently ranks among the top ten most downloaded Health and Fitness platforms, making a significant difference in users' lives. At Fabulous, you will collaborate with a senior team of Android Developers, an experienced CTO, and a renowned designer. Our Android team is exceptional, utilizing shared code across iOS and Android through J2OBJC, with Kotlin as our primary development language. We are transitioning towards Kotlin multiplatform development. Operating as a fully remote team, we maintain a minimal meeting policy, fostering trust and autonomy since our inception seven years ago.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilizing your technical expertise throughout all phases of feature development.
- Producing high-quality, modular, and testable code, including shared business logic with the iOS application.
- Contributing to the preparation of essential project documentation.
- Designing user interfaces based on mock-ups from our UI/UX designers, incorporating engaging animations.
- Participating in the enhancement of our processes and standards.
Essential Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of Android Java and Kotlin, with Kotlin being the preferred language at Fabulous.
- Strong grasp of clean architecture, design patterns, and clean coding practices.
- Proven experience in developing, launching, and maintaining native Android applications.
- Able to work effectively within a team, providing and receiving constructive feedback.
- Proficient in writing concise emails and communicating effectively in English.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose.
- Familiarity with the MVI pattern.
- Background in iOS application development.
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript (utilized for tooling).
