As a Data Center Security Operations Leader in CO+I Physical Security, you will be part of a global team committed to delivering a trustworthy security program to safeguard personnel, infrastructure, data, and confidential information that is essential to Microsoft Cloud. You will be responsible for overseeing physical security operations at data centers and related facilities within your region, collaborating with vendor security personnel to fulfill collective security needs, anticipate site-specific vulnerabilities, and lead discussions on strategies for risk mitigation and response to residual risks. You will communicate findings from risk analyses and root cause assessments to internal and external stakeholders and leadership. This role will provide you with opportunities for career advancement, deeper physical security expertise, and global security program management. The Data Center Security Operations Leader must be situated in the designated region and will operate from an agreed-upon data center location.

Responsibilities
Security Program Management

  • Oversee the execution of physical security policies and procedures at relevant data centers, ensuring that Microsoft's physical security vendor personnel have the necessary resources and information to deliver security services that meet Microsoft and customer standards for protecting individuals, information, and critical infrastructure.
  • Conduct analyses to identify security threats, alerts, or risks, escalating to the critical incident response team and/or external authorities as needed. Implement security protocols to safeguard company personnel and assets.
  • Collaborate with data center operations, security systems, and other Microsoft stakeholders to ensure secure and uninterrupted operations while fostering a One Team, One Microsoft environment.
  • Continuously enhance the efficiency and maturity of the overall physical security program at Microsoft data centers, seeking data-driven insights and recommending strategies to reduce churn, optimize resources including budget management and forecasting, and implement innovative solutions to challenges, scaling, automating, and simplifying processes whenever feasible.
Security Leadership
  • Manage escalations/notifications of physical security and business-impacting events, ensuring that regional leadership is kept informed through regular communication and that the necessary personnel for incident management respond effectively.
  • Be available on-call 24x7x365 and travel periodically as required within or outside of the assigned metropolitan area.
  • Contribute to collaborative efforts with stakeholders to support security capabilities, assisting in risk identification for data center vulnerabilities and disruptions to aid decision-makers in mitigating risks and addressing residual risks.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in Security Program or Program Management or a related field.
Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is essential for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will require passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

While not mandatory, we seek the following Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Risks or a related field AND 8+ years of experience in Security Program or Program Management.
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Industry security certifications such as CPP, PSP, or other relevant security certifications.
