Role OverviewWe are in search of a knowledgeable Precious Stones Specialist to enhance our Jewellery & Precious Stones team, focusing on the expanding sector of Catawiki's Gemstones auctions.
Your Responsibilities- Utilizing your expertise, you will be tasked with crafting appealing auctions by assessing and organizing lots submitted by our users. Your extensive knowledge of the industry will enable you to evaluate lot titles, descriptions, and images, providing users with accurate and fair valuations.
- Maintaining transparency and fairness in user transactions is paramount, and your skills will be crucial in upholding these standards. We pride ourselves on our interactive platform, so a professional and courteous demeanor with our sellers is essential. Your contributions will lead to exceptional auctions that attract bidders.
- To ensure your auctions remain appealing, you will collaborate with our sales team to attract and nurture new sellers, diversifying the range of lots available in your auctions. Additionally, you will partner with our marketing team to boost bidder interest in your auctions.
- In-depth knowledge in your area of expertise;
- Possession of a Gemmology Diploma from a recognized institution;
- 3-8 years of experience in the jewellery, diamonds, or precious stones industry, with insights into manufacturing processes and quality control, as well as the ability to conduct gemological assessments;
- Experience in evaluating and appraising jewellery;
- Strong understanding of market pricing and the nuances involved in curating online lots;
- Extensive industry knowledge and a network of potential sellers and experts;
- Documented experience in customer-facing roles;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Proficient computer skills;
- Ability to mediate disputes diplomatically;
- A collaborative team player;
- Fluency in English; proficiency in French is an advantage.
