Toulouse, Occitanie, France airbus Temps plein
Job Overview:

We are seeking a Software Quality Engineer (m/f) for our Commercial Aircraft division to become a part of our Quality Assurance Department within Avionics & Simulation based in Toulouse, France.

The Avionics & Simulation department is responsible for the design, development, production, and support of critical software systems embedded in Airbus aircraft, including Flight Control, Flight Warning, and Air Traffic Management systems.

Our mission extends to serving as a Chamber of Reference, providing essential expertise within Airbus concerning equipment development, including technical guidance to the Design Office, financial and technical evaluations of external proposals, and consulting for aircraft programs.

Your Work Environment:

Toulouse, recognized as the global hub for aeronautics and the European center for space research, is a vibrant city in the southwest of France, featuring an international airport. Its strategic location between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, along with proximity to the Pyrenees mountains, offers numerous outdoor activity options.

Employee Benefits:

  • Compensation: Competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, profit-sharing schemes, and an employee savings plan supported by Airbus.
  • Work-Life Balance: Additional leave for special occasions, holiday transfer options, and a staff council providing various social, cultural, and sports activities.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Comprehensive health insurance coverage, with site-specific services such as health centers, concierge services, gyms, and carpooling applications.
  • Professional Development: Extensive upskilling opportunities, access to e-learning courses, certifications, expert career paths, and national and international mobility options.

Your Responsibilities:

As a Software Quality Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the quality and certification of software throughout its entire lifecycle, including Development, Production, and addressing in-service issues, with a strong focus on compliance with applicable avionics software standards (e.g., DO178C).
  • Collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders, working closely with the software team and related subcontractors, as well as engaging with other teams involved in ensuring the quality of Avionic Equipment, including Program Management, Architecture, and Electronic Product Development.

You will be responsible for delivering the necessary Quality Assurance plans for Avionics Products, overseeing quality surveillance activities.

Your role will also involve providing the Quality Assurance Dossier, detailing the maturity of the delivered Avionic software standards, including all quality evidence and performance metrics related to key indicators (PPS, Deviations, Non-Conformities, Test Coverage, Rework, etc.). Regular reporting and the delivery of quality surveillance KPIs for Avionics Products will be essential.

Your Qualifications:

A senior-level experience in quality software development within an industrial context is required.

With a collaborative spirit and strong interpersonal skills, you will lead and support the development team in executing key projects within a complex environment.

Demonstrating open-mindedness and autonomy, you will possess the ability to explain, persuade, and provide clarity to the development team.

Familiarity with Business Improvement tools, Quality fundamentals, and Configuration Management skills will be advantageous.

Confirmed experience in managing Quality projects, along with APQP experience or its equivalent, will complete the ideal profile.

This position necessitates an awareness of potential compliance risks and a commitment to integrity, serving as the foundation for the company's success, reputation, and sustainable growth.
