Job Title: Optical Design Engineer for Augmented Reality Display
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Optical Design Engineer to join our team at Optinvent. As an Optical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex optical systems for our augmented reality displays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop optical systems for our AR displays, including definition and design of complex optical systems for imagery and illumination.
- Draft technical specifications based on customer input and define key performance criteria.
- Interface with customers to optimize specific optical systems and perform performance analysis taking into account their requirements.
- Develop algorithmic tools for performance comparison, optimization, and tolerancing dedicated to geometric waveguide-based optical systems.
- Support the prototyping and fabrication of optical components, including drafting of specifications, interfacing with manufacturing partners, integration, and performance measurement.
- Design for manufacturing of high-volume optical components.
- Report to the CTO of the company.
Requirements:
- Strong experience in optical simulation software (Zemax, Code V, LightTools, etc.) and Python for design, tolerancing, and optimization.
- Sequential and non-sequential ray tracing.
- Experience with microdisplays and near-to-eye display is appreciated.
- Experience in molded optical plastic optical components is a plus.
- English proficiency is necessary.
