Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Packaging Developer to join our R&D Packaging team in Paris. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development and qualification of packaging projects for our luxury division.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Marketing and R&D Formula to develop new packaging concepts that meet consumer needs and are technically and financially viable.
- Work closely with Procurement to develop cost-effective packaging solutions that meet marketing briefs and respect gross margin targets.
- Conduct risk assessment studies and establish homologation plans to validate packaging success criteria.
- Develop and communicate thorough component and finished good specifications.
- Track development milestones and communicate dates/updates to cross-functional partners.
- Validate new component tooling and conduct aesthetic development (color matching, decoration).
- Review and approve artwork files for packaging-specific criteria.
- Attend production meetings to ensure components and finished goods meet quality expectations.
- Approve quality standards and range boards for componentry and finished goods.
Requirements
- Experience working in technical packaging roles, preferably in the beauty industry or cosmetics/pharmaceutical/personal care industry.
- Academic qualifications: Scientific Bachelor's degree in packaging, chemistry, mechanical engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify smart solutions with the right level of pragmatism.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills for verbal and written communication of ideas, technical rationales, risks, issues, and recommendations.
- Ability to work in a culturally diverse organization and travel when required.
- Professional fluency in English.
- CAD skills are a plus.
