Department Overview
Within the Travel Distribution Business Unit, our Engineering team is committed to ensuring customer success by delivering adaptable and cutting-edge solutions, maintaining high quality and technology standards while ensuring rapid time-to-market.
The Front Office division focuses on developing web-based solutions that empower travel agencies to overcome business challenges and drive growth. Our flagship solution, Selling Platform Connect, serves a vast network of travel agents globally and is central to a comprehensive platform known as REEF, which offers modular components for application developers.
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled DevOps engineer to:
- Facilitate the transition of existing applications to cloud-compatible technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
- Oversee the migration of our applications from private data centers to Microsoft Azure public cloud, utilizing Microsoft solutions to enhance resilience, response times, and operational efficiency.
- Redesign applications to align with core cloud principles (distributed data, auto-scaling, low startup time, multi-region capabilities).
- Develop and implement comprehensive Infrastructure-as-Code automation based on the GitOps paradigm for application provisioning across multiple platforms and regions.
- Revise processes to optimize software delivery and operations on the new platform.
- Establish new infrastructure paradigms for logging, monitoring, event management, and alerting.
- Enhance developer experience through relevant productivity tools.
- Guide the organization towards a DevOps culture and adapt processes accordingly.
- Provide training on new tools and processes to the organization.
- Assess cloud technologies and necessary evolutions.
- Contribute to the development of a migration strategy.
- Share cloud expertise with product feature teams.
- Engage in the overall public cloud migration development, including documentation (Design, Code, Procedures, etc.).
- Participate in prioritizing, investigating, and resolving incidents and problems.
Required Qualifications
We are looking for a DevOps engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in the following areas:
- Proficient in Java, Groovy, Maven, Gradle, and Jenkins pipelines.
- Strong understanding of OpenShift, Helm, and Docker.
- Expertise in CI/CD, GitOps, and Jenkins pipelines.
- Familiarity with Azure public cloud.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to excel in challenging situations.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and implement them for prototyping.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Collaborative mindset with adaptability.
- Self-motivated and effective in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
