Job Title

DevOps Engineer - Observability/Logging/Splunk Specialist

Business Environment

Amadeus is revolutionizing its logging solution by leveraging Splunk, a leading industry platform for collecting and analyzing data from various sources. With 3 petabytes of logs generated daily, we are the top Splunk customer. Our internal customers rely on logs for investigation and mean time to recover reduction, making it essential to build a cost-effective, automated, scalable, and resilient logging solution based on the Splunk Kubernetes operator.

Log collection and extracting value from logs in Splunk are crucial aspects of our mission, making the logging journey to the cloud a rich and diverse one.

Your Main Responsibilities

Key accountabilities include:

  • Coaching Splunk users to maximize its potential
  • Developing automation to manage hundreds of Splunk clusters in Kubernetes
  • Splunk administration and operations
  • User and technical documentation writing
  • Developing and maintaining libraries (C++ or Java) and components to interact with Splunk for data push and extraction
  • Developing tools and processes to optimize costs, performance, and user experience, ultimately providing better observability services

Required Skills

  • Interest in observability, logging, and Splunk
  • Effective communication skills and interest in support activities
  • Kubernetes and HELM expertise
  • Experience with Amadeus logging frameworks, libraries, or investigation practices is a plus
  • Automation skills (Jenkins, ArgoCD) and knowledge of Terraform, Ansible would be beneficial
  • Python or Go experience would be advantageous
  • Splunk knowledge or experience would be a plus
  • MS Azure knowledge or experience would be beneficial
