Job Title: Head of Contracts

As a key member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) team, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Contracts to lead our contracting activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, communicating, and implementing the Contracts Management process, as well as coordinating the development and stewardship of Contracts Plans for Trains 14 and 15.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Project Management Team's Contracting activities, including issuing ITT, executing the EPC contract, and coordinating input with Legal and other Major Project Groups/PM functions as required.
  • Prepare ITT packages and coordinate the tender process with Supply, integration, and legal.
  • Prepare, develop, and manage EPC Contract/Contract documents, including coordination of full Contract scope definition.
  • Evaluate EPC contractor's technical bid and make appropriate recommendations to Shareholders regarding the acceptability of Contract terms and conditions.
  • Administer the EPC contract, documenting and recording all changes, progress measurements, and payments, management of claims, monitoring of bonds/guarantees, preparation of Contract modifications, and closing out the contract.
  • Assist with the review and negotiation of project change requests submitted by EPC Contractors.
  • Take the lead in preparing contractual responses to EPC Contractors.
  • Interface with EPC Contractors in resolving Contractual-related issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Law, or Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 12 years' experience in a major project environment within the oil and gas industry, with exposure in business and risk management, including project controls, cost and schedule development, tender preparation, and contract management.
  • 3 years' supervising multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams and as Head of Controls for mega projects.
Technical Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and prioritizing skills.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer literacy skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Reporting and Relationships:
  • Reports to Business Manager (Project Controls).
  • Direct reports: 2-3 Lead of Contracts during EPC.
Internal and External Relationships:
  • Frequent interaction with NFW Onshore Business Manager (Project Controls), NFS Onshore Contracts Division Manager Support, Team Risk Management Head, and team members within the NFS PMT organizations.
  • Regular contact with Execution Planning and Services (EP&S), Legal, Supply, Finance, and Shared Services Departments.
  • Regular contact with FEED Contractors, their sub-contractors, and vendors during the execution of the project.
Job Context:
  • Understands the key project drivers, defines roles and responsibilities, develops communication protocols, identifies, develops, and implements project procedures for contract management.
  • The prime objective of contract management is to improve project performance by anticipating issues, avoiding negative situations, and reducing the frequency of poor outcomes.
