About PickyPal: PickyPal is an innovative startup in its early stages, currently participating in a prestigious incubation program. We specialize in developing SaaS solutions that serve as shopping advisors and virtual sales agents utilizing generative AI technology for online retail businesses. Our goal is to assist consumers in discovering products that meet their unique preferences, thereby enhancing the online shopping experience and boosting conversion rates for our partners. We are in search of a CTO who will be instrumental in driving our technological vision forward.

Role Overview: As the Chief Technology Officer and co-founder, you will spearhead the technical direction of the company, overseeing product development and potentially building and managing a technical team. This position demands a high degree of independence and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment. You will be the cornerstone of our technical operations, with a unique opportunity to influence the trajectory of our technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical development of our product, which is currently in the MVP phase, engaging in all facets of development from system architecture to deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO to ensure that the technical strategy aligns with the business objectives of the startup.
  • Adopt a dual focus on product and technology, emphasizing efficiency, iterative development, and continuous adaptation to market demands.
  • Establish the technical team from the ground up, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
  • Stay ahead of technological trends, ensuring that PickyPal remains at the forefront of advancements in AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and data science.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making processes.

Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience in software development with a focus on AI, machine learning, natural language processing, and generative AI.
  • Proficient in widely-used AI/ML frameworks and libraries, including but not limited to PyTorch and NLP tools.
  • Expertise in large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and frameworks such as Langchain.
  • Strong background in data science, with experience in SQL/NoSQL, ETL processes, and data processing platforms like Apache Spark.
  • Familiarity with best practices in scalable and secure system architecture, containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).
  • High proficiency in backend development and coding.
  • Frontend development skills are a valued addition.
