We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at Lesaffre Institute for Science and Technology. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in accelerating our Research and Development program by developing and implementing advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement statistical models and machine learning algorithms to support researchers in their daily work
  • Build and analyze complex Design of Experiments (DoE)
  • Communicate complex analytical findings to a diverse audience through interactive data visualizations, reports, and presentations
  • Participate in discussions concerning the orientation of future projects and the valorization of results
  • Contribute to the evaluation of the scientific robustness and integrity of data generated and analyzed

Requirements:

  • Master or PhD degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a statistician in an industrial environment or in R&D
  • Fluency in English, French is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team spirit

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience applying statistical and machine learning methods and experimental design principles to R&D problems
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Good programming skills in R and/or Python languages
  • Experience in data manipulation and open-source analysis libraries

Optional Skills:

  • Good experience in Design of Experiment in R&D environment
  • Organizing and facilitating trainings or e-learnings on statistics to a scientific audience
