Job Title: Senior Network Engineering Specialist

Job Summary:

Serco is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineering Specialist to join our team in Strasbourg Office. As a key member of our network team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement network configurations for data networks
  • Test and install network software and hardware
  • Perform troubleshooting of network problems using network analyzers and/or sniffers
  • Develop and maintain network-related documentation and technical specifications
  • Configure and implement network monitoring and management systems
  • Implement and monitor network security
  • Plan network capacity and estimate network utilization
  • Analyze current network software and propose modifications and new software according to best practice standards and procedures
  • Perform log file analysis, analysis of traces and dumps
  • Engage with vendors offering network-related services and equipment

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant education (master or equivalent) after secondary school
  • Minimum 9 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in DNS and IP administration, LAN protocols, TCP/IP, WAN network topologies, and network management tools
  • Advanced knowledge of network configurations, network security, and monitoring and management of network security devices
  • Ability to perform network capacity planning and understand common network topologies and cabling technologies
  • Network (Cisco Certified Network Professional/CCNP or equivalent) and IT Service Management/ITSM qualifications (IT Infrastructure Library/ITIL-ITILV3ISO/IEC 20000 or equivalent) would be advantageous
