Job DescriptionThe Centre Ingénierie et Santé (CIS) brings together 70 people, including 18 professors in engineering, industrial/computing, biomechanics, and healthcare engineering. The CIS has been representative of the ability of Mines Saint-Etienne to acquire leadership on innovative themes such as soft tissue biomechanics.
The SAINBIOSE research unit, led by Prof. Stéphane Avril, aims to establish multiscale digital twins of ageing effects on vascular mechanobiology and to simulate and screen effective rejuvenation treatments. The unit has 15 years of experience in biomechanics and mechanobiology.
We are opening a non-permanent postdoctoral position of 1 year (renewable) to join the Avril's team working on the JuvenTwin project. The work will be carried out at Mines Saint-Etienne, within the SAINBIOSE research unit (Inserm U1059). The objective of the engineer will be to establish the first vascular applications of our new multiplex imaging platform integrating the latest facility of digital spatial profiling for RNA and proteins.
The tasks may change depending on the needs of the department and Mines Saint-Etienne.
Profile SoughtWe are looking for a candidate with a doctoral degree no more than 3 years old, in which case you will be employed as a postdoctoral researcher. If your doctorate is more than 3 years old, you will be employed as a research and development engineer.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in medical imaging or image analysis, with a capacity to successfully integrate a team and a group within a R&D environment. Good knowledge of image processing, first experience with biomedical applications or molecular biology, and expertise in coding (Matlab, Python, Julia) are also required.
