About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and entrepreneurial-minded CHO cell line development expert to join our team at Kyron. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for the execution of feasibility studies for industry partners, testing different genetic integration strategies in CHO cells, and optimizing growth conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop stable mammalian cell lines expressing key therapeutic proteins of interest
  • Lead the optimization and development of CHO cell medium for engineered cell lines, coordinating with third parties where required
  • Adapt CHO cells to serum-free and suspension growth
  • Explore and optimize gene expression in CHO and HEK cells
  • Optimize and scale up growth of different CHO cell lines
  • Quality reporting of cell banks
  • Contribute to the setup and development of in-house analytical studies

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience working with cell line development
  • PhD in cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, biological engineering, or other life science discipline
  • Experience in suspension CHO/HEK cell line development, vector design/cloning, stable and transient transfections, single cell cloning, clone selection, research cell banking, stability assessment studies, and genetic characterization methods
  • Experience leading projects or project sub-teams and/or managing contract research relationships
  • Excellent planning and organization skills
  • Team player with the ability to deliver projects in a timely manner

  • Knowledgeable about GMP and regulatory requirements
  • Postdoctoral studies
  • Experience working with glycoproteins and/or the protein secretory pathway
  • Mass spectrometry experience
  • Patent inventor
  • Experience working with plant and yeast recombinant expression systems
