Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Simulation Engineer to join our team at Forvia's R&D Center in Bavans, France.

About the Role

As a Mechanical Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and validating finite element models of hydrogen storage systems, including tank straps and composite materials. Your primary goal will be to ensure the reliability and robustness of our products through simulation and testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop a comprehensive methodology for modeling and testing hydrogen storage system components
  • Validate correlation between simulation and test results
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve CAE methodology and ensure accurate modeling
  • Manage test planning, execution, and analysis to characterize mechanical behavior
  • Perform test vs. FEA correlation and assess confidence level
  • Develop guidelines and training materials to transfer knowledge within the team
Requirements
  • Mechanical engineering degree or equivalent
  • Strong background in CAE methods, including finite element analysis and solver development
  • Experience with Abaqus, Ls-Dyna, and Hypermesh software
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate complex ideas effectively
  • Fluency in English (B2 level minimum)
