Position Overview:
Within the Resources and Coordination Directorate, your primary role involves the formulation of public contracts and tender documentation in collaboration with operational divisions and legal teams, ensuring adherence to public procurement regulations and deadlines. You will provide guidance to operational divisions regarding procurement methodologies and potential legal implications. You will autonomously oversee consultation processes for contracts of a specified value. Additionally, you will facilitate purchasing procedures in partnership with the Purchasing Division and the Public Procurement Division.
Profile:
You are a Local Government Officer, holding a higher education qualification in Public Contract Law / Public Procurement or a Master’s degree in Public Economic Law and/or Local Government Law or an equivalent qualification. You possess relevant prior experience in similar roles.
You have a solid grasp of public procurement laws, can evaluate legal risks, comprehend municipal budgetary processes, and navigate administrative functions. You are adept with digital tools, proficient in report composition, and skilled in engaging with supervisors. With strong interpersonal abilities, you exhibit accuracy, flexibility, analytical reasoning, and a collaborative spirit. You are self-motivated, independent, and thrive in team-oriented environments.
