Materials Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Coordinator to join our team at Progress Rail. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling activities involving the release of production order material.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate supply plans through ERP updates, reports, and various communication tools to production, planning, warehouse, quality, and engineering teams.
- Review, monitor, and complete order follow-ups to ensure manufacturing plans are 100% achievable based on material availability.
- Review Bill of Material Changes and Manufacturing Change Requests to ensure compliance, accurate material requirements, and the minimization of waste.
- Act as a liaison to ensure alignment between manufacturing, planning, warehouse, and quality teams.
- Monitor and communicate order status, and assist in inventory management by releasing material to production orders.
- Lead special projects as assigned, and research order and delivery discrepancies to resolve MRP-related issues.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience on the shop floor and/or working in a customer service role.
- Strong MS Excel and ERP/MRP system skills.
- Competency using other computer-based programs such as Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Solid problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a self-directed, team-based environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to negotiate solutions with suppliers and internal customers.
