About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrochemical Modelling Engineer to join our team at Verkor SAS. As a key member of our Product Development Team, you will play a crucial role in the development of our cutting-edge lithium-ion battery technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement electrochemical models for Li-ion battery cells and cell components using tools such as COMSOL and 3D Experience.
  • Perform simulations and data analyses to support product development and validation.
  • Collaborate with battery scientists and test engineers to design and execute experiments for advanced characterization and model parametrization.
  • Review literature and stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electrochemical engineering and Li-ion battery technology.
  • Work closely with cell development leaders to meet project timelines and deliver high-quality results.
Requirements
  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Specialized knowledge in electrochemistry, electrochemical engineering, and Li-ion batteries.
  • Experience in physics-based modeling of Li-ion batteries (3+ years preferred).
  • Strong background in mathematical modeling and model order reduction techniques.
  • Proficiency in scientific coding (Matlab/Python) and numerical methods (FEM, CVM, ...).
  • Proficiency in simulation tools (3D Experience, ANSYS, COMSOL, ...).
  • Experience in hands-on lab activities (cell assembly, testing, ...).
  • Experience in project management.
  • English: proficient / French is a plus.
