In addition to their remarkable computational capabilities, QPUs are exceptionally energy-efficient, contributing to a significant decrease in the carbon footprint of the high-performance computing (HPC) sector.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Physicist with expertise in Quantum Computing or Many Body Quantum Systems to become a member of the Primitives team.

Your responsibilities will include researching, designing, and developing protocols that can be executed on Rydberg atom quantum computers, which serve as the foundational elements for algorithms utilized by the Hamiltonian team. This role will require close collaboration with the Simulators, Protocols, and Software Libraries teams, as well as with other subteams focused on analog quantum algorithms. You will be tasked with investigating promising advancements within the Physics community and assessing their relevance for computation on our platform.

You will collaborate with software developers, hardware engineers, and algorithm developers, while also promoting, analyzing, and supporting the implementation of the resulting methodologies throughout the organization.

Candidate Profile

You possess a Master's degree in Physics and have demonstrated experience of 3+ years in a related role, or you hold a PhD in Physics, along with the following qualifications:

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python
  • Strong software development practices, including version control, collaborative development, and documentation
  • Experience with numerical simulations of quantum systems, such as qutip, iTensor, or qiskit
  • Background in quantum optics and atomic physics OR Quantum Information Processing (QIP) is essential
  • Experience in the quantum computing sector, both in industry and academia, is highly valued, particularly with neutral atom quantum processors

Interpersonal Skills:

  • Excellent organizational skills and a passion for collaboration and communication across teams (including international teams)

  • Ability to take ownership of projects
  • Proven track record in reporting, documenting, and presenting research findings
