Position Overview:

As a Forecasting Project Leader at Eni, you will play a crucial role in shaping the methodologies and tools essential for electricity forecasting activities. Your expertise will be vital in developing innovative solutions for short-term forecasting, utilizing advanced data analysis techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting directly to the Pricing and Forecasting Manager, you will spearhead the development of forecasting methodologies and tools, employing programming languages such as Python and SQL to analyze customer load curves for electricity commodities.
  • Engaging in various modeling initiatives for additional commodities, including gas and capacity, ensuring comprehensive forecasting over both short and long-term horizons.
  • Participating in the complete value chain of forecasting, from database setup to data processing and model construction.
  • Contributing to the operational processes of the team, including gas and electricity forecasting, and conducting studies aimed at enhancing existing methodologies.
  • Monitoring model performance daily, focusing on cost optimization and efficiency.
  • Collaborating closely with Portfolio Management teams to provide insightful analyses of exposures and management strategies.
  • Leading the development of methodologies and tools specifically tailored for short-term electricity forecasting.
  • Establishing a robust database, automating queries, and leveraging machine learning techniques for effective modeling.

Qualifications:

  • Strong foundation in data analysis and data science.
  • Proficient in programming and modeling, particularly with Python (including libraries such as numpy, pandas, scikit-learn, tensorflow, keras) and Linux.
  • Ability to handle large datasets effectively.
  • Experience in forecasting within the electricity or gas sectors is advantageous.
  • Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Italian is a plus.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
