Context and Key Features
The TAU/A&O team at INRIA is a joint research team with LISN, focusing on Machine Learning and data-based modeling. Our research program includes ML for Numerical Simulation, where we aim to develop a Foundational Large Physics Model for fluid simulations. This project involves collaboration with experts in CFD numerical simulations and large-scale transformers.
Job Responsibilities
- Familiarize with existing solutions and study state-of-the-art approaches for large models in science.
- Manage data generation, including creating comprehensive training datasets and augmenting them with high-fidelity numerical simulations.
- Design an efficient training strategy, potentially leveraging pre-training approaches from other large models.
- Evaluate the model's generalization capabilities and performance compared to other ML methods for solving partial differential equations.
Key Activities
- Maintain an up-to-date bibliography on ML for Numerical Simulations.
- Conduct state-of-the-art research, including programming and model development.
- Participate in team activities, seminars, and conferences.
- Write scientific papers and present work at conferences.
- Develop potential collaborations with academic and industrial partners.
Requirements
- PhD in a related field such as Machine Learning, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Applied Mathematics, or Physics.
- Experience with developing and training large-scale ML models.
- Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, PyTorch).
- Ability to conduct independent research and collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
- Experience in publishing scientific papers.
