Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled ROV Technician to join our team at DeepOcean. As a key member of our ROV Maintenance Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of our Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) and maintaining a high level of technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Anticipate, plan, and carry out maintenance visits on ROV fleet devices to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Provide technical support on field (onshore or offshore) to our ROV teams, responding to technical queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Utilize manufacturer manuals and contact suppliers as needed to resolve technical issues and maintain system records.
  • Prepare technical intervention sheets and reports to document maintenance activities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Seek feedback from the field on ROV daily use and concerns, and use this information to inform maintenance strategies and improve overall ROV performance.
  • Assist with technical tenders and develop working relationships with all staff and contractors to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.
  • Carry out internal system audits (IMCA R006) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with all project clients to ensure their technical needs are met and exceeded.
  • At all times, comply with regulatory requirements and company safety policies.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Maintain good relationships and availability to ROV teams to assist with any technical queries, with a focus on timely response and resolution.
  • Ensure prompt closure of any technical issues, with a focus on minimizing downtime and maximizing ROV performance.
  • Maintain good relationships with suppliers and ROV manufacturers, ensuring timely delivery of parts and services.
  • Maintain system records and ensure accurate documentation of maintenance activities.
  • Develop and maintain good technical knowledge of the fleet ROV, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Engineering schooling or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and French language skills.
  • Appropriate electrical/mechanical qualification.

Working Environment

The ideal candidate will be based in our Sète office in the South of France, with regular travel to DeepOcean Africa worksites. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results and exceeding client expectations.
