Principal Machinist

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Technician to join our Asset Management team at Altrad Babcock. As a key member of our Operations function, you will provide technical leadership and governance in the field of Specialist Machining, supporting the growth and development of our Valve refurbishment and Cross Fleet Tube Plugging product platforms.

• Provide technical leadership and expertise in the operation of general and bespoke machining equipment, cross fleet tube plugging equipment, and valve seat replacement equipment.
• Project manage all aspects of our Specialist Machining contracts, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Oversee the preparation of key commercial tenders, identifying resourcing requirements and allocating suitable equipment to projects.
• Collaborate with the Specialist Machining department to ensure all project contractual obligations are met.

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar or transferable role, preferably with a recognized qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Alternatively, qualifications may be replaced by a proven track record and applicable experience in a similar role.
