Job Summary:
Nexans is seeking a highly skilled R&D Technician to join our team at the Nexans Metallurgy Excellence Center. As a key member of our R&D team, you will play a crucial role in the development of new products, processes, and services that drive innovation and growth in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the definition and implementation of methods and tools for sample testing and prototype development.
- Evaluate and update risks associated with product development.
- Assess potential safety risks related to equipment and materials.
- Define the necessary tools and adaptations in the form of a technical specification.
- Develop and follow up on prototypes in the workshop.
- Pilot the recording of control characteristics, discrepancies between expected and actual results, areas for improvement, and any difficulties encountered.
- Transcribe and synthesize results in the form of a realization report and/or technical reports.
- Independently manage certain dedicated equipment (first-level maintenance, manufacturer contacts) and train teams on their operation (new arrivals, interns, etc.).
- Communicate regularly with interested parties on the progress of tests.
- Operate in various technical fields.
- Propose autonomous technical perspectives in line with project requirements.
- Understand and propose technical interpretations in line with project requirements.
- Contribute to technological watch, technical specification drafting, and patent filing.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience of at least 5 years in an R&D industrial and/or industrial environment, ideally in the metallurgy industry.
- Key skills: precision, curiosity, open-mindedness, and autonomy.
- Technical expertise in non-ferrous metals.
- Mastering and managing quality control means and R&D analysis equipment (metallographic preparation, optical and electron microscopy, microhardness, traction, etc.).
- Fluency in English is a plus.
